Round 12 (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday) of our Summer Season will be our Go Blue Awareness Round, delivered in partnership with Breakthrough T1D.
Southern United Netball Association (SUNA) is proud to share that Round 12 (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday) of our Summer Season will be our Go Blue Awareness Round, delivered in partnership with Breakthrough T1D.
We are pleased to be working closely with Lauren Hoysted, Fundraising Manager (SA | NT | West NSW) for Breakthrough T1D. Lauren’s daughter, Indiana, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in 2022 at just nine years old. Indiana is both a player and an umpire at SUNA, and we know there are many others within our community players, coaches, umpires, volunteers who are also living with T1D. This awareness round is an important opportunity to recognise and support them, and to help raise understanding of this lifelong condition.
We warmly invite all clubs, players, families, and supporters to join us on that week for our Go Blue for Breakthrough rounds. You could wear a splash of blue maybe socks or face paint and help us shine a light on type 1 diabetes.
Breakthrough T1D will be inviting media and running promotional activities in the lead-up to the event. Throughout the week, fundraising activities including ribbon sales and more will be taking place.
About Go Blue for Breakthrough
This initiative supports Breakthrough T1D’s vision of a world free from type 1 diabetes. The campaign raises awareness and vital funds to advance research into prevention, improved treatments, and ultimately, a cure. Over 130,000 Australians currently live with T1D, and this event allows our netball community to contribute to meaningful change.
We would love to see you get involved and standing with us in support of those living with T1D.
